ADSC Program Description

The Adult Day Services Center (ADSC) offers a caring, affordable program for seniors age 55 and older who need a little extra support or cannot stay home alone during the day. We help seniors stay as independent as possible while meeting their unique needs. The Center also gives caregivers a well-deserved break and peace of mind, knowing their loved one is safe, socializing, and enjoying meaningful activities. Transportation is available to make participation stress-free.

•            Physical, social, and mental activities

•            Nutritious meals

•            Caregiver support

•            Medication administration

Activity staff consists of three full-time therapeutic recreation leaders and one activity director. A registered nurse is available on-site to monitor participants' medical needs. Program fees are based on income affordability.  The program’s waiting list varies.

Program participants must:

•            Be age 55 or over

•            Have a disability that prevents them from remaining alone during the day

•            Be able to use the bathroom with minimal assistance

•            Be able to respond to simple directions

•            Be able to function in a social setting

The program warmly welcomes seniors with dementia, including Alzheimer’s Disease, who can interact socially. Our program director and on-site nurse meet with each applicant to ensure they can safely and successfully take part in activities. We are committed to providing a supportive and engaging environment for every participant.

Volunteers Make a Difference

Volunteers are a vital part of our team, providing extra support, attention, and friendship to participants. They help make our programs engaging, fun, and meaningful. Through meaningful stimulation, we work to maintain and enhance participants’ awareness of the world around them. This is one of the reasons volunteers are so important to our center.

Volunteers engage in many of the activities listed below:

•            Assist during breakfast, lunch, and snack

•            Help with arts and crafts

•            Support special events and themed parties

•            Supervise outings, such as rodeos, baseball games, ballets, and fire station visits

•            Offer friendly visits and individual attention

•            Lead music or singing programs
