- FREE parking for Farmers' Market visitors is available in the Tavern Square garage (418 Cameron St.) or Courthouse garage (111 S. Pitt St.) on Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Parking meters increase to $2.75/hour and Parking tickets increase to $55 starting July 1.
Parking Garages and Lots
There are many public parking garages and lots within Old Town are conveniently located near King Street. Please refer to the map below for specific locations.
Third party parking websites and apps, such as SpotHero, Parkopedia, and Parkwhiz also provide parking information and options to reserve parking for a short term visit or on a monthly basis.
The City owns and operates the following garages and lots:
- Courthouse Garage – 111 S. Pitt Street
- N. Union Street Garage – 220 N. Union Street
- Thompson’s Alley Garage – 10 Thompson’s Alley
- Cameron & St. Asaph Streets Lot – 517 Cameron Street
- South Henry Lot – 116 S. Henry Street
- Union Station Lot – 110 Callahan Drive

On-Street Parking
On-street metered parking is available along King Street and the side streets north and south. Typically, meters allow parking for two or three hours, Monday through Saturday, but meter times, days, and prices may vary based on location, so drivers should read all posted signage carefully before parking on-street.
In most locations, the meter rate is $2.75 an hour. Payment can be made at a parking meter on the block or via Parkmobile, the City's pay by phone app.
Please note that some residential blocks near the commercial areas in Old Town require payment to park if a vehicle does not have the applicable district parking permit. These blocks may charge higher parking rates and have longer hours and days of restrictions. Please read all signage carefully before parking. Learn more about the Residential Pay by Phone Program.

Visit Alexandria Without Needing to Park!
Visitors to Old Town are encouraged to bike, walk, or take the Metrorail Yellow or Blue lines to King St-Old Town station and take the FREE King Street Trolley or FREE DASH bus. For DASH schedule information, visit www.dashbus.com. For Metrobus schedule information, visit www.wmata.com.
Bicyclists may visit www.alexandriava.gov/GOAlex for the City’s Bikeways Map, which features the City's best on-street and off-road bikeways, as well as locations for grouped bicycle parking. Additionally, there are several Capital Bikeshare locations in Old Town - visit capitalbikeshare.com/#homepage_map for specific locations.
