Project Description
The Braddock Heights Area Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project is a multi-phase capital improvement project with the goal of inspecting sanitary sewers in the area of Braddock Heights, Park Fairfax, and Arlandria and identifying any assets that have condition defects that increase risk of failure or collapse, and performing targeted repair and rehabilitation.
The Braddock Heights area is the fourth phase of the Sanitary Sewer Asset Renewal Program. The goal of the program is to preserve and protect existing City-owned sewer infrastructure, extend its useful life, and protect against pipe collapses and other emergency repairs.

Planning Overview
During the planning phase, City staff and engineering consultants conduct a sewer system condition assessment which requires the inspection of all sanitary sewer mainlines, sewer manholes, and City-owned Laterals. For the Braddock Heights area, it is expected that 78,335 linear feet of sewers, 461 manholes, and up to 985 City-owned laterals will be inspected with CCTV cameras to document the condition of all assets.
Following the inspections, major defects in the sewer system will be evaluated and a rehabilitation plan will be developed and scoped for future implementation.
