Alexandria Police Department Makes Arrest in Abduction Incident

ALEXANDRIA, Va.— The Alexandria Police Department has made an arrest in an abduction incident.
On Monday, September 1, 2023, at approximately 11:09 p.m., officers responded to an incident in the 400 block of South Washington Street where a female victim reported a man attempted to abduct her.
APD has Charged Xavier Cooper, 34, a City of Alexandria resident with abduction with intent to defile. Cooper was arrested Friday, September 29, 2023, and transported to the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center where he is currently being held without bail.
This incident is still considered an active investigation and the Alexandria Police Department is urging anyone with information related to this incident to assist in the ongoing investigation.
