The Resource Recovery Holiday Schedule is posted below. On holidays observed by the City, City offices are closed and refuse/recycling collection services are, unless otherwise noted, delayed one day for the remainder of the week.
2025 Holiday Schedule
January 2025
JANUARY 1 - New Year's Day (Wednesday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste and leaf collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be Monday.
- Tuesday collection will be Tuesday.
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Except Monday, Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be Monday.
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Friday collection will be on Saturday.
JANUARY 20 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and curbside food waste collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, January 20.
February 2025
FEBRUARY 17 – George Washington Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Curbside food waste collections will be on the regular schedule.
- Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, February 17.
May 2025
MAY 26 – Memorial Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, May 26.
June 2025
JUNE 19 – Juneteenth Holiday (Thursday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be Monday.
- Tuesday collection will be Tuesday.
- Wednesday collection will be Wednesday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Except Monday and Wednesday, Curbside food waste collection will experience 1 day delay.

July 2025
JULY 4 – Independence Day (Friday)
- City offices are closed.
- Street and commercial trash and recycling collections will follow the normal collection service schedule.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed by one day.
- Monday collection will be Monday.
- Wednesday collection will be Wednesday.
- Thursday collection will be Thursday.
- Friday collection will be Saturday.
September 2025
SEPTEMBER 1 – Labor Day Holiday (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and curbside food waste collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, September 1.
October 2025
OCTOBER 13 – Indigenous Peoples’ Day (Monday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste, and curbside food waste collections will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be on Tuesday.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center will be closed on Monday, October 13.
November 2025
NOVEMBER 11 – Veterans Day (Tuesday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, yard waste and leaf collection will be delayed one day.
- Monday collection will be Monday.
- Tuesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Wednesday collection will be on Thursday.
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Curbside food waste collection will follow the normal collection service schedule.
NOVEMBER 27 – Thanksgiving (Thursday)
- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collections will follow the normal collection service schedule.
- Curbside food waste collection will be delayed by one day only on Thursday & Friday.
- Monday collection will be Monday.
- Wednesday collection will be on Wednesday
- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Friday collection will be on Saturday.
NOVEMBER 28 – Day after Thanksgiving (Friday)
- City offices are closed.
- Street and commercial trash and recycling collections will follow the normal collection service schedule.

- City offices are closed.
- Trash, recycling, and yard waste collections will be delayed one day.

- Thursday collection will be on Friday.
- Except Monday & Wednesday, Curbside food waste collection will be delayed one day.

Missed Collection?
Your preparation of material for collection is critical for us to recover resources, ensure safe collection, and leave the area neat and clean. If your material is not collected by the end of the day, check for a tag that explains why the City could not collect.
COMMON PROBLEMS INCLUDE
- Collection container, bag, or item is too heavy
- Items such as carpet or lumber longer than 4 feet
- Contains unacceptable items such as construction debris, dirt, brick, and stones (residents should call a private hauler to dispose of these items)
- Dangerous or messy liquids such as gasoline and undried paint
- Trash mixed with recycling
