Labor Day Schedule of Services for the City of Alexandria
All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day. Other schedule changes and closures are listed below.
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
Friday, August 30 and Monday, September 2: No school for students.
Alexandria Transit Company (DASH)
Monday, September 2: DASH bus service will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
The free King Street Trolley operates from King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square (301 King St.) with service every 15 minutes, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., every day.
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA)
Monday, September 2: Closed.

Courts
Monday, September 2: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court Office (Courthouse and Del Pepper Center locations) will be closed or closed to the public.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Monday, September 2: Closed. Customers should check the hours of their local DMV Select location, as it may operate outside of the state holiday closing schedule.
Emergency Hotlines
All emergency hotlines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the Child Protective Services Hotline at 703.746.5800; the Domestic Violence Hotline at 703.746.4911; the Emergency Mental Health Services or substance use crisis hotline at 703.746.3401; the Adult Protective Services hotline at 703.746.5778 or 988; and the Sexual Assault Hotline at 703.683.7273.
Health Facilities
Monday, September 2: Alexandria Health Department, Flora Krause Casey Health Center, and the Teen Wellness Center at Alexandria City High School’s King Street Campus and Minnie Howard Campus will be closed.
Historic Alexandria
Monday, September 2: All museums will be operating according to their standard schedules.
Impound Lot
Monday, September 2: Closed.
The City’s impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.
Libraries
Monday, September 2: All Alexandria Library branches will be closed.
Parking
Monday, September 2: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.
Recreation, Nature and Arts Centers
Monday, September 2: Warwick Pool and Old Town Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Charles Houston Recreation Center and Patrick Henry Recreation Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation facilities will be closed.
Resource Recovery
Monday, September 2: Household Hazardous Waste Electronic Collection Drop-off Center is closed.
Residential refuse, recycling, yard waste, and food waste collection will be delayed by one day during the week of Monday, September 2.
Torpedo Factory Art Center
Monday, September 2: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. according to its standard operating schedule.
