City Services Map

The City administers a range of civic services to foster community engagement (including voter registration and election management, public libraries, cultural centers and parks) as well as hosting community engagement opportunities at locations across the City. This map has been developed to simplify the process of locating these civic services and City locations for those interested in participating.

5001 Eisenhower Ave

5001 Eisenhower Avenue is a large, outdated office building being considered for conversion to residential use to address both the City's current office vacancy rate and the need for housing options. Community input on this project is welcome and encouraged!

Market Square Renovation Project

The City Hall and Market Square Renovation Project will be supported by a robust community engagement plan to ensure nearby residents, businesses and all Alexandrians are part of the design process.

Housing 2040

The Office of Housing invites Alexandrians to complete a survey on housing needs and issues impacting their community to inform the Housing 2040 Master Plan (Housing 2040) goals and recommendations. The survey is open through January 12, 2025 and is also available in additional languages.

John Ewald Park Improvements

The 3.88-acre park located in the West End of Alexandria currently has a lighted basketball court, playground, and parking lot. Anticipated improvements include the renovation and relocation of the playground, Parkour fitness equipment, and stormwater management recommendations gathered from the public.
King Street Closure

Walk Zone Pilot for 200 Block of King Street Begins

This initiative, requested by the Mayor and City Council at their September 2024 Legislative Meeting, aims to transform the 200 block into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly space. The pilot will allow the City to test the feasibility of this change while gathering valuable community feedback.
