APD Seeks Community Assistance to Locate Active Suspect

Alexandria, VA - APD is seeking the community's assistance in locating Mr. Dexter Brown, the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred this morning in Alexandria.
He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Call 911 if you see him or know his whereabouts.
Brown is wanted for Robbery while Armed, Shooting in an Occupied Building, Violent Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Please see the attached wanted poster.
At approximately 10:32 a.m. this morning, APD officers responded to the 1300 block of King Street for the report of a commercial robbery in progress. An adult male, identified as Dexter Brown, entered the location and fired a gun multiple times, taking an undisclosed amount of money from the register, and fled the scene. No injuries were reported. Detectives are currently following leads.
