Update in Wythe Street Shooting: Alexandria Police Conduct Death Investigation as Man Succumbs to Injuries

Alexandria, VA - One of the victims wounded in the shooting that occurred last night, September 19, 2024, near the 1300 block of Wythe Street, has succumbed to his injuries. The man is identified as Mr. Kwakia Frazier, a 25-year-old city resident. Alexandria Police responded last night to a call of reported gunfire at approximately 8:14 p.m. where they located two wounded men in the 1300 block of Wythe Street.

The other adult male injured in the shooting, a 46-year-old city resident, is in stable condition. During the investigation, the Alexandra Police identified a third injured person. A 15-year-old male, who was grazed by a bullet received medical treatment on scene.

Detectives continue to canvas the neighborhood, interview potential witnesses, and seek further information to assist in this ongoing investigation.
