City Schedule of Services for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Other schedule changes and closures are listed below.
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
Monday, January 20: Closed
Alexandria Transit Company (DASH)
Monday, January 20: DASH bus service will operate on a Saturday schedule. Lines 102, 103 & 104 will not be running. Regular weekday service will resume on Tuesday, January 21st. For a full listing of the Saturday timetables by route, please visit dashbus.com/schedules.
The free King Street Trolley operates from King Street Metro to City Hall/Market Square with service every 15 minutes, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
Please note that DASH Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA)
Monday, January 20: Open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adoptions begin at noon.

Courts
Monday, January 20: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court will be closed.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

Health Facilities
Monday, January 20: Alexandria Health Department, Flora Krause Casey Health Center, and the Teen Wellness Center will be closed.
Historic Alexandria
Monday, January 20: All Historic Alexandria museums will be closed.
Impound Lot
Monday, January 20: Closed
The City’s impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.
Libraries
Monday, January 20: All Alexandria Libraries will be closed.
Parking
Monday, January 20: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.
Recreation, Nature and Arts Centers
Monday, January 20: Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility, Charles Houston Recreation, and Patrick Henry Recreation Centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation facilities and nature centers will be closed.
Resource Recovery
Residential refuse, recycling, and yard waste will be delayed by one day during the week of January 20. The Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, January 20.
Curbside food waste will follow the normal collection service schedule.
Torpedo Art Factory
