City of Alexandria Prepares Residents for Severe Storms  

For Immediate Release: June 26, 2023 

Severre Storm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for parts of Northern Virginia, including the City of Alexandria, on Monday, June 26 until 9 p.m. Residents may experience damaging wind gusts, large hail, flash flooding, and tornado conditions.

Residents, businesses, and visitors should seek shelter, tune in to local media for more information, and take appropriate actions to keep their households safe.

The City has deployed public works teams to prepare for downed traffic signals and debris removal. Utilize City customer service: Alex 311 or call 703.746.4311 to submit non – life threatening requests. For immediate police, fire, or emergency medical assistance, call or text 9-1-1.
