Portion of Real Waterfront Property at 2 King Street Request for Proposals
On Monday, May 1, 2023, the City of Alexandria issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the sale and redevelopment of a portion of City-owned surplus property located at 2 King Street (Parcel ID# 075.01-05-04). This City-owned property is an 1,825 square foot area located at the foot of King Street directly adjacent to the City’s Waterfront Park, shops and restaurants and is improved with eight (8) asphalt-paved parking spaces. The property is zoned WPR, Waterfront Park and Recreation and is located within the Old and Historic Alexandria District.
The City is seeking firms that have a proven combination of experience, financial capacity and expertise in the design, development and construction of infill developments including public-private partnerships, commercial development involving both office and retail development and development in historic districts to purchase and redevelop the subject property according to the provisions, terms and conditions determined by the City.
