Do you need health insurance?

Starting November 1, 2023 consumers in Virginia in need of health insurance, but who are not eligible for Medicaid, will purchase affordable healthcare coverage  through the Virginia Insurance Marketplace.  Virginians will  no longer be able to purchase insurance through the federal marketplace (previously healthcare.gov or ObamaCare).

Coverage is available to you whether you’re unemployed, you’re self-employed, or your job doesn’t provide an affordable insurance option. The Marketplace was created for Virginia, by Virginians, and is the only place to get financial assistance to help lower the cost of coverage and care. Learn more at www.marketplace.virginia.gov/

The Virginia Health Benefit Exchange seeks to transition Virginia from healthcare.gov to a Virginia-based marketplace, better coordinate with Virginia agencies to support health insurance continuity, and work to reduce the number of uninsured Virginians. View the introductory presentation for details.
