Councilman Abdel-Rahman Elnoubi
Abdel-Rahman Elnoubi was elected to City Council in 2024 and is serving his first three-year term.
Prior to his election to City Council, Councilman Elnoubi was elected in November 2021 to represent district C on the Alexandria City School Board where he served between 2022-2024.
He previously served on the Alexandria City Community Criminal Justice Board and the Alexandria City Building Code Board of Appeals, appointed by the City Council. He also has served as a community advocate for police accountability and data transparency, restorative practices in schools, fair labor laws and workers' rights. In addition, he has served as Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School PTA president and secretary.
He is a capital program manager at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and is also a licensed professional engineer.
Councilman Elnoubi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The City College of New York and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from George Washington University. He also graduated from the University of Virginia’s prestigious Sorensen Institute.
Born in Chicago to Egyptian immigrant parents, he spent his adolescence in Alexandria, Egypt. In 2011, he moved to Alexandria, Virginia, to work at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. A proud father of two, he and his wife, Salma, enjoy spending time with their family. In his free time, he plays sports and roasts specialty coffee at home.
