• Prepare “first night” necessities for children taken into foster care as a result of a crisis.
  
  -Baby Basics Baskets (ages 0-24 mos.)
  -Toddler Treasures (ages 2-5)
  -School Age Supplies (ages 6-12)
  -Teen Totes (ages 13-18)
• Arrange outings for children (zoo, museum, movie, etc.)
• Supply tickets for sports or performance events.
• Organize celebration picnic for children and foster parents.
• Organize appreciation brunch for foster parents and volunteers.
• Purchase Life Books and scrapbook/memory book supplies for foster children.
• Join a Speaker’s Bureau to reach out to community groups.
• Instruct foster teens in life skills or career opportunities.
• Be a Santa Claus for a foster child or needy family.
• Help raise money for The Fund for Alexandria’s Child, providing enrichment for at-risk children.
• Assist with newsletter production.
• Contribute to the “Send a Kid to Camp” fund.
• Donate your birthday: throw an Alternative Birthday Party where your friends give you gifts or gift cards for a child in need. (You have enough stuff anyway!)
• Give a Double Baby Shower: ask that similar gifts be purchased for a baby in need.
• Donate School Back Packs stuffed with supplies and books for elementary through high school kids.
• Prepare Foster Family thank-you baskets, full of treats and small pleasures, to acknowledge those who bring children in crisis into their homes.
• Donate Teen Parent baskets with supplies for infants and young parents.
