Two Food Hubs currently operate in the City on Mt. Vernon Avenue and the West End that are funded by the City and several partner organizations. The costs to have an additional West End Food Hub at the Del Pepper Center would include staffing, food, technology, equipment, materials, communication, and health and safety costs. It is anticipated that roughly 1,500 households would access the Food Hub in the Pepper Center each month.
The total cost to operate two Food Hubs in the West End would be $544,500 annually, of which $244,500 is currently budgeted. A detailed breakout of estimated costs for the existing West End Food Hub and additional Hub are attached.
