Oath of Office
Pursuant to Section 2-4-7 (g)(2) Every person appointed by the city council to any committee shall, on or before undertaking a position on such committee, qualify by taking the an oath of office.
Oath must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office within 60 days of notice of appointment. Members who fail to submit their oath within 60 days are subject to removal. Oaths may be submitted through the member portal, by email, or by mail to Office of the City Clerk, 301 King Street, Suite 2300, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
Statement of Economic Interest and Financial Disclosure Forms
Pursuant to Section 2-5-11(9)(11) - Financial disclosure statement required. In addition to those public officials and employees who may be required by Article 5 of the State and Local Government Conflict of Interests Act, Va. Code section 2.2-3113 et seq., to file annual financial disclosure statements, all persons holding the following offices or positions in the city shall file an annual financial disclosure statement on a form prescribed by the Virginia Conflict of Interest and Ethics Advisory Council in accordance with the provisions of the State and Local Government Conflict of Interests Act. Such forms shall be filed in the office of the city clerk on or before the date required by the State and Local Government Conflict of Interests Act in the Virginia State Code.
(9) Members of the following boards and commissions of the city:
a. Planning Commission;
b. School Board (filed with state)
c. Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority;
d. Board of Zoning Appeals;
e. Board of Architectural Review;
f. Board of Equalization and Assessment Review; (Real Estate Assessment Review Board)
g. Alexandria Industrial Development Authority;
h. Alexandria Sanitation Authority doing business as Alexandria Renew Enterprises; (Alex Renew)
i. Human Rights Commission;
j. Building Code Board of Appeals; and
(11) Members of the Community Policy and Management Team created by section 12-12-1 of this code.
