Resources for Federal Government Employees
Latest Updates
Join Congressman Don Beyer and regional partners in the City of Falls Church, Arlington County and Fairfax County as he hosts a Resource Fair for Federal Workers, Contractors, and Economically Impacted Individuals on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at Wakefield High School.
As many of our Northern Virginia neighbors navigate economic uncertainty, this resource fair will allow individuals to connect directly with trusted local partners who can help them access the support they need – from housing assistance and food banks to workforce and small business resources.
Northern Virginia is home to thousands of dedicated public servants, contractors, and working families whose livelihoods have been disrupted. No one should have to navigate these challenges alone and as a community, we are committed to showing up for one another.

As part of their Community Support Initiative, ACT for Alexandria is sponsoring NeighborShare ALX, a campaign to support neighbors impacted by the federal shutdown. This online platform connects neighbors in need with neighbors who can help when help is needed most. Visit nbshare.org/ALX for more.

Be Aware of Employment Scams
Be on the lookout for scams! Scammers try to take advantage of people looking for jobs with too-good-to-be-true job offers and other scams. Do not trust any job opportunities that make you pay your own money upfront. Do not trust calls or messages from fake government agencies. The IRS will never call you directly. Carefully read the email address of email senders to ensure they are real. Visit this Federal Trade Commission Consumer Advice article for tips on how to stay safe from job scams.
