Project Description

The City of Alexandria is increasing the capacity of the sanitary sewer system by installing new, larger pipes on four streets:

Construction

Construction Update

Project procurement is complete. Preparation for site mobilization is underway.

Active construction is expected to begin January 20, 2025, and run through August 2025.

Pre-Construction Community Meeting

  • Date: Thursday, January 9, 2025
  • Time: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: 
    • City Hall, 301 King Street, Sister Cities conference room (1st Floor, Cameron Street side) and Zoom
    • Description: City of Alexandria staff gave a presentation on the project featuring details about the project, including the project schedule, work hours, what to expect during construction, and how construction-related impacts will be managed. The presentation was followed by a public question-and-answer session.
