Alexandrians Invited to Apply for the Fall Sheriff’s Community Academy
Sheriff Sean Casey is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the fall session of the Sheriff’s Community Academy. This free program offers those who live or work in the City of Alexandria the unique opportunity to learn more about the Sheriff’s Office and its vital role in local public safety.
The fall session will run for four consecutive Saturday mornings, from September 6 to September 27, with classes held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The application deadline is Friday, August 29, but space is limited so don’t delay.
Sheriff’s Community Academy attendees will explore the work of the Sheriff’s Office through a mix of presentations and interactive learning, covering key areas such as:
• Jail operations
• Inmate services and programs
• Judicial operations
• Public safety services
In addition to classroom learning, attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look with tours of the Adult Detention Center and the Alexandria Courthouse, along with engaging in hands-on activities.
