Sheriff’s Community Academy Accepting Applications for Spring Session
Sheriff Sean Casey invites Alexandrians to apply for the spring session of the Sheriff’s Office Academy. The program is offered free of charge and is open to people 18 or older who live or work in the City of Alexandria. The deadline for applications is Friday, February 21.
The spring session of the Sheriff’s Community Academy will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on four consecutive Saturday mornings, March 1 through 22.
The Sheriff’s Community Academy educates community members about the role of the Sheriff’s Office in the local justice system and in providing public safety services. Classes are a combination of presentations and interactive learning and cover jail operations, judicial and special operations, civil process and warrant service, and inmate services and programs. Participants will tour the Adult Detention Center and the Alexandria Courthouse and take part in hands-on activities.
