Sansé Affordable Housing Waitlist Open April 20-26

Housing Alexandria’s waitlist for Phase 1 of the Sansé will accept applications between April 20 and April 26. Access the waitlist here: Waitlist Form 

Sansé is an affordable housing community located at 3600 Mount Vernon Avenue in the Arlandria Chirilagua neighborhood of Alexandria. The community, upon completion, will include 495 affordable apartments. Beginning in August, 206 of the units (ranging in size from junior one-bedroom to three-bedroom units) will be ready for occupancy. 24 units of these units (including one bedroom, one bedroom and den, and two-bedroom units) will be accessible. 

Application process:

  1. Waitlist is open April 20-26. Access the waitlist here: Waitlist Form
  2. Lottery is scheduled to be held on May 4
  3. Selected applicants will be contacted to schedule an application appointment
  4. Applicants are screened for eligibility

Please note that joining the waitlist does not guarantee a unit. Renting at the Sansé is based on eligibility and availability. 

Sansé Amenities

Sansé will have a variety of amenities including a community room, fitness center, family playroom, bike storage, and playground. Sansé will offer free basic wifi and limited free parking.

Basic Eligibility Information

To be eligible for a unit at Sansé, applicants must income qualify. Depending on the affordability of the unit (expressed as a percentage of AMI or the area median income), total household income must fall between minimum and maximum limits (listed in the tables below). To determine total household income, interested applicants should add the before-tax income of all residents in the household. This includes income from all forms of employment, Social Security, unemployment benefits, TANF, retirement benefits, workers compensation, and recurring gifts.
