The City of Alexandria, in partnership with Alexandria-based law firm Mercer Trigiani, is sponsoring a series of vitual workshops related to common interest communities (condominiums, townhomes, cooperatives, others) during FY2023. Registration is open to attend the next Condominium and Community Association Training session which will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 9:30am - 11:30am. The goals of the educational sessions include informing homeowners and homebuyers about the structure and governance of common interest communities; strengthening the knowledge of community board members in understanding, managing and budgeting; and helping communities understand state laws related to open meetings and governance. The educational sessions are offered at no cost to participants, but registration is required. The topic of the May 27th session is Environmentally Conscious Communities. To register, visit this link. Flyer.

Condominiums have traditionally been the most affordable homeownership housing option for first-time homebuyers in the City of Alexandria.  Recognizing the importance of common interest communities in preserving the region’s economic and social diversity, the City of Alexandria hopes to broaden awareness of community association management to strengthen and preserve these valuable housing resources for the future.  For additional information on this education series, please call the Office of Housing at 703.746.4990 or email kimberly.cadena@alexandriava.gov.

The City of Alexandria is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.
