City of Alexandria Reminds Residents of Early Voting Deadline for November 4, 2025, General Election

For Immediate Release: October 27, 2025

The City of Alexandria reminds residents of early voting options for the November 4, 2025, General Election. All registered voters in Virginia are eligible to vote early. Carefully review the information below to determine applicable deadlines, times, and locations.

The November 4, 2025, General Election includes contests for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, House of Delegates, Commonwealth’s Attorney, and Sheriff.

Early Voting

The deadline to vote early is Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 5 p.m. 

Early voting hours are offered at the following times and locations:   

Office of Voter Registration and Elections (132 N. Royal St., Suite 100)

  • Open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. 

Additional and Extended Hours:

  • Monday, October 27, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 28, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 29, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 30, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Friday, October 31, (Normal Business Hours)
  • Saturday, November 1, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Open for early voting only during these hours:

  • Monday, October 27, 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 28, 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 29, 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 30, 1 p.m.-7 p.m.
  • Friday, October 31, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 1, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Ballot Drop Boxes

Ballot drop boxes will be available at all polling places on November 4, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. A secure outdoor drop box, under video surveillance, is available in front of the Office of Voter Registration & Elections, 24 hours a day, through November 4, 2025, at 7 p.m. 

Same Day Registration

If you missed the normal registration period that ended on October 24, 2025, you can still vote using same day registration. To register and vote on the same day, you must be at an early voting center in your locality during the early voting period, or at the voting location assigned to your residence address on Election Day. You will be issued a provisional ballot to cast your vote. This ballot will be reviewed after Election Day, but once it is verified that these are properly cast same day registration provisional votes, they will be included in the official vote tally for the election. If you have questions about the same day registration process, please contact us at voters@alexandriaVA.gov or 703.746.4050.
