A special election will be called to fill the vacancy on the Alexandria City Council. The most up-to-date information can be found at alexandriava.gov/Elections.
Prior to the special election, individual political parties will hold their own nominating events to select their candidate to run for the Alexandria City Council Seat. Community members seeking information about these party-run nominating events can visit the respective party websites:
- Alexandria Democratic Committee - Event held Saturday, February 21, 8:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Alexandria Republican City Committee
These events are organized and run by the political parties. They are not managed by the Alexandria Office of Voter Registration & Elections.
