The City of Alexandria has declared a Snow Emergency in advance of the winter storm expected this weekend, beginning January 24. All vehicles must be removed from the snow emergency routes by 10 p.m., Saturday, January 24.

During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on designated snow emergency routes so crews can safely and efficiently plow and treat roads. Snow emergency routes are posted with red and white signs, and listed in the City Code. Vehicles left on these routes may be ticketed or towed.

Please remove vehicles immediately from the following streets:

  • King Street (Union Street to western city limit)
  • Washington Street (city limit to city limit)
  • Duke Street (Washington Street to western city limit)
  • U.S. Route 1 (city limit to city limit)
  • Braddock Road (North West Street to Beauregard Street)
  • Howard Street (Braddock Road to Jordan Street)
  • Jordan Street (Duke Street to Howard Street)
  • Eisenhower Avenue (Holland Lane to Van Dorn Street)
A detailed map of the City of Alexandria showing emergency snow routes highlighted in red. The layout includes streets, block details, and a legend at the bottom indexing the map sections.

Residents are also reminded not to block traffic or interfere with snow removal operations during the emergency.

Thank you for helping keep Alexandria’s streets safe and accessible during winter weather.
