In its commitment to community policing and resident outreach, the City of Alexandria is asking community members to share their thoughts on the necessary qualities for the next police chief.

The City has hired the International Association of Chiefs of Police to conduct an open, competitive search, which will begin with an online feedback form.

“We want to hear from the community as we work to identify the best candidate to lead the Alexandria Police Department,” said City Manager James F. Parajon. “This process is beginning with an opportunity for feedback, because we want to make sure our candidates best align with our community’s values.”

The feedback form will be open through May 31. Participation is voluntary, and responses are confidential. The feedback form will take less than 5 minutes to complete.

The feedback form can be found using the following links:

  • English

  • Spanish

  • Arabic

  • Amharic
