“Period Products 101 Workshop” Offers Families an Empowering Opportunity to Learn About Periods and Period Products

Talking about periods doesn’t have to be awkward! Alexandria’s Teen Wellness Center and Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop are teaming up to host “Period Products 101: What’s Available and How to Use Them”—an interactive workshop designed to educate and empower.

Join us this Wednesday, December 3, from 6–7:30 p.m. at the William Ramsay Recreation Center (5650 Sanger Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22311) for an open conversation about periods and the wide range of products available to manage them—from pads and tampons to menstrual cups and more.

This workshop is perfect for young people who have periods or are preparing for them (ages 8-14), along with their caregivers. Participants will learn the facts about periods, explore product options, and get answers to their questions from supportive, local experts.

“There’s so much information out there that it can feel overwhelming,” said Zayda Morales, Health and Community Education Specialist at the Teen Wellness Center. “We want young people to know that periods aren’t scary—and that they have choices. This workshop is all about empowerment.”

People are asked to please RSVP using the the online form, but walk-ins are welcome!

More information about health services for young people in Alexandria is posted on the Teen Wellness Center website.
