LEASE AND OPERATION OF GADSBY’S TAVERN RESTAURANT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
On Monday, October 23, 2023, the City of Alexandria issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for management and operation of the City-owned, historic Gadsby’s Tavern Restaurant, located at 138 N. Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.
The City is seeking operators that have a proven combination of experience, financial capacity and expertise in the management, operation, and marketing of highly successful restaurants with the ability to operate a Federal-era history inspired themed restaurant.
As a National Historic Landmark, the site is visited by thousands of visitors from the region and throughout the world each year and is noted for its many famous patrons, including George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, and the Marquis de Lafayette.

ADDENDUM NO. 1 – REVISED DATE FOR NON-MANDATORY SITE VISIT; AND RECEIPT OF WRITTEN INQUIRIES
Addendum Date: October 31, 2023
The City of Alexandria has elected to revise the date for the Non-Mandatory Site Visit from November 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to November 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.; and the City of Alexandria has elected to revise the Closing Date for the Receipt of Written Inquiries from November 17, 2023, to November 29, 2023. All other terms of the RFP shall remain unaffected by this addendum.
