Summer RPCA Registration Open, Financial Assistance Available

April 8, 2021--Registration is open for Alexandria residents for classes and activities offered by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities (RPCA), and financial assistance is available to community members and residents who need help covering fees.
Discounts are available to residents age 60 and older and households accessing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid or housing assistance as well households where a child receives free or reduced lunch at an Alexandria City Public School. Any resident may request assistance outside of these categories.
The summer session offers a variety of in-person options for all ages and new virtual programs, ranging from fitness and sports programs to environmental education, camps for children and creative and performing arts programs. A complete list of summer programs is available on the City’s website.
The summer classes and activities begin in June and run through August. Financial assistance requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the start of class.
