Project Description

The City of Alexandria is increasing the storage and performance capacity of both the existing sanitary and combined sewers at four locations along the 300 and 400 blocks of N. Alfred Street. Root intrusion (roots growing into the pipes via cracks) of the sanitary sewer pipe is causing sewer backups in several properties in the 300 and 400 blocks of North Alfred Street during wet weather events.

Construction Update

The City is in the process of awarding the construction contract.  Active construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2024.
