Budget Question # 059: Capital Improvement Program (Page 9.6): Can you provide more information on the necessity of the Warwick Pool re-plastering project currently funded in the FY 2023 CIP? Is this regular preventative maintenance or a defect in a brand-new facility? (Mayor Wilson)

Response: Pool replastering is part of industry standard pool maintenance and typically occurs every 5-10 years depending on environmental conditions and general wear and tear. The pool plaster work at Warwick Pool was completed in 2017 as part of the facility replacement. The City’s pool contractor assessed the facility last year and noted that replastering was required. City staff reviewed the pool condition and concurred with the contractor’s determination.
