Budget Question # 44: Is it possible to have a memo on the cost savings if we only bring the restoration of departments travel & training budgets back to 75% vs. 100% (Councilman Chapman)

Response:

The fully restored FY23 All Funds travel and training budget totals $3,318,288. If restored to the 75%, level, the new total would total $2,488,716 -- a realized All Funds savings of $829,572. Savings to the General Fund would total $506,970. Travel and training budgets are inclusive of line items such as education and training, travel accommodations, conferences and registrations, and personal auto/mileage. The departments most affected by the travel and training restoration and any potential reduction to that are Human Resources, Fire, Police, and Emergency and Customer Communications which represent 56% of the General Fund expenditures.
