Permitting and Inspections Division - T&ES
The City of Alexandria encourages the general public to use the City’s APEX permit system to apply for all T&ES related permits, such as reserved parking, right-of-way closures, and excavations. Should there be any questions concerning the application process, please contact us at 703.746.4035. Staff will be available to assist with submittals, status updates, and issuance of permits.

Overview
The Permitting and Inspections Division is located on the 2nd floor of the Redella S. “Dell” Pepper Community Center at 4850 Mark Center Drive. This division administers and coordinates utility work within public rights-of-way, inspects all bonded development work, and enforces the soil erosion control ordinance. The Permits section, which is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, issues all excavation permits, reserved parking permits, miscellaneous public works permits and checks building permits for compliance with T&ES standards and specifications.
Requests received at the counter after 4:15 will be processed the next business day.
