Alexandria West Planning – Online Comment Period on Draft Plan now through August 1!

Staff presented the draft AlexWest Plan to the community at a June 25 open house at Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School. A recording of the staff presentation, open house content boards, fact sheets, and the draft Plan are now available on the project webpage.

Share your thoughts! The public comment period on the draft Plan is now open!

Listed below are different ways you can share your feedback on the draft Plan:

  1. Online Public Comment Forms on the project webpage: Visit alexandriava.gov/AlexandriaWest and select one of the following comment forms: English, Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Dari, and Pashto (Through August 1)
  2. Via email or phone to Christian Brandt, Urban Planner, christian.brandt@alexandriava.gov, 703.746.3895 (anytime before the public hearings in September)

New information will be communicated through eNews and WhatsApp, and shared with community groups, as well as posted on the project webpage, where you can also find all Plan background information, materials, and a project schedule. 

Office Hours: Staff are also hosting five different Zoom Office Hours during July.  If you have any questions or would like clarification about an aspect of the plan, we encourage you to drop in to these sessions.  Each session will be open for two hours and will be first-come-first-serve and one-at-a-time.  Times and Zoom registration links are listed below.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the access link and passcode.

Tuesday, July 2, 12 – 2 p.m.

Thursday, July 11, 3 – 5 p.m.

Wednesday, July 17, 5 – 7 p.m.

Thursday, July 25, 3 – 5 p.m.

Monday, July 29, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
