City of Alexandria Seeks Community Interest on the Curbside Composting Pilot Program
The City of Alexandria seeks community interest and input on the residential curbside composting pilot program. This project was identified as an action item in the City’s WasteSmart Strategic Plan and the Environmental Action Plan adopted by the Alexandria City Council. Reducing food waste and composting is an essential strategy for the City for sustainable resource recovery.
The City has launched a short online interest form to provide the public with an opportunity to share thoughts or ideas for the pilot. Submissions for the online interest form will be accepted through Monday, December 19. Data and feedback collected will be used by project staff to help develop the pilot program. Residents will also be able to join an initial waitlist to be contacted when the pilot registration opens.
