Duke Street In Motion: Advisory Group to Discuss Concepts from Jordan Street to Roth Street
For Immediate Release: September 12, 2022
The Duke Street In Motion Advisory Group meeting will take place on September 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Alexandria Police Department headquarters (3600 Wheeler Ave.), Room 106. Members of the public are welcome to attend virtually or in person.
The group, which was established by City Council, is tasked with developing a recommendation on a preferred transitway concept for the Duke Street Corridor. The meeting will focus on high-level design concepts from the segment of Duke Street from Jordan Street to Roth Street.
In August, the Advisory Group provided feedback on potential high-level concepts for the eastern and western segments of the corridor: Landmark Mall to Jordan Street and Roth Street to King Street Metro Station. The presentation and a recording are available on the Duke Street in Motion website.
The advisory group is providing input on these concepts before the City solicits input from the community in October to help the Advisory Group narrow concepts under consideration. The Advisory Group is anticipated to recommend a preferred concept by the summer of 2023.
There will be a public comment period at the beginning of the meeting. An agenda and meeting materials are available at alexandriava.gov/dukeinmotion. The meeting can be accessed via Zoom by registering at the following link: zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_mXAnVFaXSxO1qzc8G0cJWw.
