Business Tax Reform Task Force
Overview
Earlier this year, as part of its ongoing effort to promote economic growth and make Alexandria a business-friendly community, the Alexandria City Council requested the City Manager to create a new Study Group on Business Tax Reform to investigate proposals that might be useful in promoting economic growth.
City Manager Rashad Young has now appointed this Task Force, and its members are:
- Bruce Johnson, Chair
- Jill Erber
- Gregory H. Leisch
- Laurie MacNamara
- H. Skip Maginniss
- James L. McNeil
If you have questions about the work of the Task Force, please contact Bernard Caton at 703.746.3963.
Business Tax Reform Task Force Final Report
The Business Tax Reform Tax Force has released its final report.
Business Tax Reform Task Force Seeks Public Input
The Task Force is seeking ideas from the public on ways the City might promote business growth. While these ideas do not need to be revenue neutral, there should be a realistic prospect that growing commercial activity will generate more revenue over time than the cost to implement these ideas or the revenue lost as a result of any changes in taxes or fees. The public is urged to learn more and provide public comment.
