Resident Survey

As part of the City of Alexandria's data-driven effort, the City conducts a survey of our residents. This helps the City Government know more about residents' expectations for the City Government as well as how well we are performing for our community.

The City of Alexandria conducted a comprehensive resident satisfaction survey with ETC Institute. The survey, administered from April to June 2023, aimed to gauge residents’ perceptions of various city services and overall quality of life. The survey was designed to capture the perceptions of the entire City with a random, representative sample. These randomly selected residents from across the City provided valuable feedback on a wide range of topics, including transportation, public safety, economic opportunity, and city government services. The results indicate that Alexandria residents are generally satisfied with the City’s performance, particularly in areas such as customer service, library services, and trash collection.
