The Parent Infant Education program provides early intervention support and services to infants and toddlers who are not developing as expected or who have a medical condition that can delay normal development. The services are available for all eligible children birth through age two and their families regardless of the household’s ability to pay. The program is part of the statewide early intervention program known as the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia.
Kids’ First Years is a partnership of people and organizations in Alexandria that work together to provide comprehensive support, care and education for all of the city’s young children and their families. The group helps families find opportunities, care and learning experiences for young children such as resources for expecting mothers, childcare, healthcare, special needs services, playgroups and preschool.
ALIVE! Is one of the oldest and largest private safety net agencies in the City of Alexandria dedicated to fighting poverty and hunger. ALIVE! serves thousands of individuals every month, providing food, transitional shelters, financial help, eviction prevention, furniture and housewares and early education.
