Child Care Head Start Programs
Alexandria Head Start provides comprehensive educational, case management, health, nutrition and mental health services to the children and families enrolled in the program. AHS is a federally funded, 10-month (September-June), center-based pre-school program designed to serve children ages three to five (or until eligibility for kindergarten) from families who meet the criteria for Head Start services including: low income; Alexandria residency; and age. The City is the grantee for the Head Start grant in Alexandria and contracts with The Campagna Center to operate the program.
The Campagna Center’s Early Head Start program provides comprehensive educational, case management, health, nutrition and mental health services to the children and families enrolled in the program. EHS is a federally funded, year round (September-August), center-based, family child care or home visitor based infant and toddler program designed to serve children ages birth to 3 and pregnant women from families who meet the criteria for Early Head Start services: low income, Alexandria residency and age.
