Therapeutic Recreation for Older Adults
Alexandria Adult Day Services Center
The Alexandria Adult Day Services Center is a daytime program for older adults with disabilities. The Center offers therapeutic recreation programs and leisure activities for center participants to help increase their physical, mental, emotional and social abilities. There are opportunities to engage in recreation and social activities regardless of your age or ability.
Senior Centers
Senior Centers offer independent seniors opportunities to participate in a wide range of activities including exercise, creative activities, field trips, music, education and information, computer classes, English as a second language, cultural activities, inter-generational activities, celebrations and fun! Center participants also enjoy nutritious meals and spend time making friends and socializing.
There are two senior centers in Alexandria operated by the Division of Aging and Adult Services:

Transportation is provided to both centers. There is no charge for meals at the centers for individuals age 60 or older. For more information, contact the centers directly.
Power-Plus Program through the Department of Recreation and Cultural Activities
