Witter Wheeler Feasibility and Campus Master Plan
The City of Alexandria’s goal for the Witter Wheeler Feasibility and Campus Master Plan Process is to ascertain how the spatial needs of the City Services Departments which currently reside on the campus can be more effectively met. Optimal location, reuse, or re-purpose of the existing facilities and/or examination of the potential for new facilities will be examined. Analysis will also include the balancing of departmental needs with available City resources in order provide better services to Alexandria residents.
The boundary of the 54.7-acre City-owned property for the Witter Wheeler Campus can be seen in the attached diagram and generally extends from Wheeler Avenue on the west to the eastern edge of Witter fields on the east. The southern border of the site is the right-of-way adjacent to Business Center Drive. The northern border of the site extends to Duke Street at the west end but shifts south along the south side of businesses that front on Colvin Street. No privately-owned property is within the boundary of the Witter Wheeler Campus study area.
