500 Block of South Lee Street Sewer Main Replacement Project

Project Description
The City of Alexandria is repairing the existing sanitary sewer pipes serving the 500 block of South Lee Street. Root intrusion (roots growing into the pipe via cracks) is causing sewage to occasionally back up into several properties. The repairs will include replacement of two sanitary sewer pipes that will provide greater structural integrity to the system and reduce future maintenance needs. The manhole providing access to this section of the sewer system may also undergo repairs or replacement. The existing infrastructure will be regularly cleaned to minimize back-ups until the project is completed.
