Car Seat Safety Program
The Alexandria Sheriff's Office is pleased to offer the Car Seat Safety Program - a free program for community members who are looking to ensure their kids are safe while traveling on the road.
What is the program?
ASO is committed to keeping Alexandria’s youngest residents safe on the road. Nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect existing car seat installations, help parents and caregivers install seats correctly, adjust harnesses to fit each child, and check seats for recalls and expiration dates. Technicians will also walk participants through proper installation so they can do it with confidence on their own. Most checks take only a few minutes. These programs are offered at no cost to the participants.
When are the Installation Events?
- October 17, 2026 | 9 AM to 1 PM
- December 12, 2026 | 9 AM to 1 PM
- February 19, 2027 | 9 AM to 1 PM
Where Will The Events Take Place?
The Car Seat Installation events will take place in the visitor parking lot of the Alexandria Public Safety Center, located at 2003 Mill Road, Alexandria, VA.

Is Registration Required?
