Alexandria Police Department Investigates Two Shots Fired Incidents
UPDATE(*4/18/23 5:30 p.m.*):: APD and City leadership continue to monitor and respond to citizen concerns in the wake of two separate events of shots fired on Monday, April 17th.
While both incidents are still under investigation, there were three arrests made in connection with the 1200 Madison Street incident and one arrest in connection with the 3600 block of King Street incident.
Patrols of the surrounding areas of both incidents will remain in place.

ALEXANDRIA, VA.— On Monday, April 17, 2023, the Alexandria Police Department responded to two separate shots-fired incidents.
There is no ongoing threat to the public, no injuries were reported in connection with either of the incidents, and these incidents are not related.
The first incident was shots fired in the 1200 block of Madison Street. In connection with this incident, APD recovered two firearms and detained three subjects.
The second shots fired incident occurred in the 3600 block of King Street. No injuries were reported, one firearm was recovered, and one arrest was made.
While the investigations are ongoing, APD within hours recovered firearms and detained persons of interest in both incidents.
