Drug take back day provides residents with an opportunity to safely dispose of unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medications, including those prescribed by veterinarians. The next Drug Take Back Day will take place on October 26, 2024 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Each month, the City’s Department of Community and Human Services publishes a “Children and Youth Community Plan Report Card” that engages the public on the progress of the CYCP. Each Report Card helps tell the unique story about Alexandria’s children and youth.

The City of Alexandria and communities in Virginia and around the world are coming together to remember those who have died or suffered injury due to drug overdose. 

Free shuttle service is available between Mark Center Station and the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Drive).

Do you know someone living in the City of Alexandria who will be 100 years or older by December 31, 2024? On Tuesday, September 10 we will be honoring older adults living in the City of Alexandria who are 100 years of age or older! Please complete your nomination by August 13.

ALX Preschool, a network of programs providing high quality care and education to children, has opened applications for families with children ages 3 and 4. Families are encouraged to register their children for the next school year.
