City of Alexandria Urges Focus on Social Distancing and Support for Vulnerable Community Members During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Alexandria Health Department (AHD) recommends that all community members change their daily behavior to reduce risk from COVID-19, particularly to protect our most vulnerable populations. The City of Alexandria has already taken proactive measures to further reduce risk and encourages all organizations and individuals to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Center for Adult Services
At this time, our programs are taking measures to ensure the delivery of services in a manner that maintains the safety and well-being of our clients and staff in response to COVID-19.
Adult Clinical Intakes
We are asking that individuals seeking mental health or substance use disorder services to please call our intake line at 703.746.3535, and not come into the office at this time on a walk-in basis. A staff person will call all clients back promptly to provide information on how to access services.
If you are advised by staff to come into the office, we will be implementing social distancing measures, meaning that we will attempt to stagger customer flow in order to reduce the promotion of existing and/or new infections. We ask that you bear with us during this time so we can keep you, our staff and the community protected from exposure to COVID-19.
In case of a mental health emergency, call 703.746.3401 and ask to speak to an Emergency Services clinician (24 hours/day).
