TRAILS Mental Health Program for Young Adults Experiencing First Psychosis: Provider Information
Who Could You Refer to TRAILS?
TRAILS services are designed to provide early and effective treatment to individuals between the ages of 15 to 30 who have recently experienced symptoms of psychosis.
Symptoms may include:
- Auditory hallucinations (hearing voices or things that other people don’t hear)
- Visual hallucinations (seeing things that other people don’t see)
- Paranoid feelings (feeling unusually afraid or suspicious)
- Unusual beliefs
- Disorganized thinking or behaviors
- Isolation
- Decreased energy or lack of motivation
What is the Goal of Treatment at TRAILS?
The TRAILS program utilizes an evidence-based Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) approach. Treatment is phase-specific and provided by a multi-disciplinary treatment team using a shared decision-making model. The goal is to assist young adults and their families in achieving their personal goals and facilitating access to the services they need.
TRAILS staff includes an integrated team of licensed mental health providers, case management, peer support, family engagement and a psychiatrist.
The full team and its psychiatrist collaborate closely with other providers to ensure coordinated care.
