Motorcycle Club Shares History of Buffalo Soldiers with Inmates

In honor of Black History Month, members of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club gave a presentation on the history of the Buffalo Soldiers, the historic African American military regiments, to inmates at the William G. Truesdale Adult Detention Center. On Thursday, February 20, Claude “Bad News” Brown, Terrence “Storm Trooper” Davis, Walter “Butch” Hagans, Alfred “Deacon” McDaniel, all members of the Northern Virginia Chapter, discussed the history of the 9th and 10th Calvary, as well as the ways their motorcycle club honors the memory of those soldiers who proudly served from 1866 until the 1940s when racial segregation in the U.S. Army was banned. The guest speakers also displayed artwork and books about the Buffalo Soldiers and then answered questions from the audience following their presentation.
